Wonderful Wednesday

Being out for the summer has allowed me to be able to pick and choose what I want to do. Casey had a 2 day class that he needed to go to in Athens on Tuesday and Wednesday so I decided that on Wednesday I would go over with him and drop him off and spend the day in Athens. Wednesday is also water day at daycare so I knew I didn't want to pick up MM until after that.

When I got to daycare to pick her up, she was so happy to see me. She literally gave me 3 kisses before we got out of the building. I was equally as excited to have a LeLe and MM day.

We lunched, shopped, picked up Casey and went to see Erin at work. What a fun day!

To end, we went to Jason's Deli for dinner. Yum! MM devoured her hotdog and was an angel while we all ate. Little did she know that when you finish a meal at Jason's you get icecream! After trying to use a spoon to eat her icecream she finally figured out you could just get right in with a cone! What a sweet sweet time!

Throwback Tuesday

Since I have no more recent weekend stories, I will use Tuesdays to do some throwbacks. Today, I would like to go back to the day that I found out that all of our lives would changed forever.

Erin, Bert, Casey and I met at Transmet pizza, in Athens, Valentines weekend 2011. I suspected that we were going to find out that they were expecting so the whole way over I kept telling Casey to help me act really surprised. I really wanted Erin to have that moment of telling and honestly I was surprised (even though I knew they were trying) They ended up spilling the beans pretty quickly after we were seated, which was good because Erin was sick. Poor thing spent most of the lunch in the bathroom. By the end of lunch we were instructed to not tell anyone and not put it on FB. We agreed and promised to keep it quiet. Quickly after those instructions were given, their families found out. We would never know how our lives would be changed after October 5th.

Taken right after we found out...

Laundry helper

MM loves to help with everything. Being the first grade teacher that I am, I love that she Is getting into this stage. It marks her beginning time for independence and growth. Yesterday, as Casey was sorting laundry, MM was hot on the trail, ready to help. He taught her how to sort, put the detergent in, and load. She was in HEAVEN!

Of course, what does one do after the loading is complete? Clap for yourself.... Obvi!

Dancing Machine

MM is a dancing machine- true story.
While at her Aunt Meg's birthday party last night, she proved that she has fast feet, mad moves, dancing skills. I'm talking skills that are enough to make the room stop and watch. Moves LeLe couldn't even photograph (of course to protect the innocent :) )
Flora (her cousin) and MM tore the house up running and playing and just being girls. It was so much fun to watch them together. What a fun life they will have together!
I leave you with 2 early morning shots from this weekend

MM is a cheese girl

I am not in any way shocked how much MM loves Mexican food. Her mama is the queen of Mexican food (and I admit that I love it too). We love to sit out on the patio at Frontera where she can climb, run free and of course sit in her seat. It's a happy medium for all of us :)

Here are the shots from last nights fun :)

First- one must ride to Frontera in style ( a true southern girl with her pearls )

Second, one must pose for a picture with their LeLe ( oh and say LeLe 10 million times -which I have on video- thankyouverymuch)

Next, we get there and the crayons, salsa, and lemonade come out

Last, the big deal- the chicken quesadilla was there-

Do you think this little one had fun? Pictures say 1000 words!

What's in a name?

So, I have this thing with loving my name. I love the way it is written, the way it sounds, the "I" at the end, basically the whole shebang. So probably since month 1 I have tried to get MM to say my name (now I know that she couldn't have said it at month 1 but a girl can dream)

I spent many a days on FaceTime and in person saying "Kelli" over and over. Blank stare- EVERY TIME. MM wanted nothing to do with Kelli. I started planning my alternate solution. I shortened it to Kelkel but later realized that the "k" sound was the tricky part. Plus, our other BF will be KK from now until forever so I couldn't take that from her.
LeLe (leelee) came to me one day, I tried it out, and she said it- like immediately- said it! Holla! It stuck! I would from now until the end of time be known as LeLe. Like can you imagine me at her highschool graduation party signing a card that says "love always, LELE" :goosebumps:

So there it stands- if you need me just ask MM to call LeLe!

Keep swimming...

Should I start off this blog with a certain introduction or just jump right in? I'm thinking jump in and explain the details later. I mean who seriously cares why I'm posting about my best friends baby? Her mama wants to remember things and I love to blog so when you mix the two you get this!

Anywho- last summer when MM was around 9 months old, Erin and I took MM to the pool for her first time. She had a really cool floaty seat and we spent the greater part of the Florida summer evening enjoying her float around the pool. She was a fish when it came to swimming! She splashed, kicked her feet, and even dunked her face in the water. Erin and I were so excited because we knew she would be a water girl ( and we love the water too)

Fast forward to this year (2013 for memory sake) we decide to take her again to the pool. You see, Erin and I meet every Wednesday for dinner and chatting ( and of course to see MM) but I digress. So they came over to my neighborhood pool with MM's new floaty in tow and tried out swimming. I didn't get the same "I love it" feeling like I got last year from her but I am pretty confident that as she gets in the pool more this summer it will be more and more fun to her. She did love to splash the water (especially so it hit someone)

So here she is -post swimming- at our house, chasing Gracie around...

Can't wait for more pool fun!
